Income-Generating Cottages in a Northcliff Garden Oasis

We had the pleasure of working with a wonderful client in Northcliff, where we built two of our 32m² bedsit cottages — thoughtfully positioned side-by-side but not sharing a common wall, ensuring improved sound insulation and comfort for future guests.

Each unit features a spacious open-plan layout, complete with a kitchenette and a private bathroom including a shower, toilet, and basin. These cottages are finished with mono-pitch tiled roofs, carefully matched to the existing home for a seamless and cohesive look.

What truly sets this project apart is the setting. The cottages are nestled in a beautifully landscaped natural rocky garden, lovingly created by the client — offering a tranquil, leafy escape right in the heart of Northcliff.

These units were built with a long-term vision in mind: the client plans to list them on Airbnb as part of a retirement income strategy. Not only is the idea practical, but the execution is exceptional — the interiors have been tastefully furnished, turning the cottages into warm, inviting spaces ready to welcome guests.

This project is a perfect example of how smart design and a great setting can come together to create beautiful, income-generating assets right at home.
